Baker Days Letterbox Cake Review and Competition

Everyone in our house loves cake, so when Baker Days recently contacted me and asked if I would like to review one of their letterbox cakes, of course I said I would love to! A letterbox cake is exactly what it says, it is small enough to fit through your letter box, but big enough to share! The letterbox cakes are 5 inches across and 2.5cm depth and is enough for 3-4 portions. When it came to looking on the website to choose a cake it took quite a while, only because there are so many lovely cakes to go for. We opted for a personalised Gruffalo cake, I chose to have a photo of E on the front of the Gruffalo and as you can also personalise the writing I chose a quote from the book. When the cake came though the door I was very keen to open box,… View Post

Make your own Jellyfish

E loves doing crafts, her favourite simple thing is sticking anything she can get her hands on to a piece of paper. E is currently really interested in fish and sea life as a whole, we have a membership to the aquarium in Plymouth which she loves to go to. Because of her interest we have recently started doing sea-life based crafts. One craft really enjoyed was making her own Jellyfish, so I thought I would share it with you. It’s perfect to do on rainy days. First of all you will need colouring crayons, scissors, blue ribbon, another piece of ribbon – any colour, two googly eyes and a piece of card cut into a semi-circle and a hole puncher. First of all colour in the piece of semi-circle card, as many colours as you like. Emily enjoyed colouring hers in. You will then need a hole puncher to create four holes along… View Post

Poly gliders Competition

I don’t know if you remember the polystyrene aeroplane’s that you can buy? I remember them from my childhood, they were occasionally bought for me and my brother. I used to love making the plane and then seeing how far they would fly. As like everything things have advanced, now as well as the polystyrene planes you can get all sorts of different polystyrene gliders. You can buy fairy, ants, dinosaurs and birds, I am sure there are probably others you can get too. I gave E a fairy glider and this is what it looks like before its built and once its finished.   we have both had hours of fun flying it and dive bombing it into each other. I now have a lovely competition to win some poly gliders. The prize contains an aeroplane, a fairy, a bird and an ant. If you would like to win these fun… View Post

It’s all about going to the Cafe!

E seems to have an obsession about going to coffee shops or as she call’s them cafe’s. I can only think this has stemmed from her Daddy taking her to a café when she gets fed up when we are out shopping. She is a clever little girl, from her visits she now knows she gets a drink and shares a cake with daddy. I have never really been a part of their little café trips and what they get up to, I am normally the one left to do the food shopping, however I don’t mind if he takes her off for a drink whilst I am window shopping in Exeter. Trying clothes on with a three-year old in tow isn’t that easy, especially as E likes to open and close the curtains of the cubicle! The other week we were in the Range shopping and E spots a café and asks if… View Post
