Father’s Day – Personalised Gifts from Snapfish

Fathers Day is on June 21st and is not that far away at all. In my honest opinion both my own father and E’s Daddy get harder to buy for every year, they always end up getting the same sort of gifts, chocolate, dvd, alcohol. When Snapfish gave me the opportunity to try out their service and review some Fathers day products I was thrilled, as I think giving something a little more personal is a nice idea and something I hadn’t thought of doing for Fathers Day before. I had a good look around their website and they really do have so much to offer, not only the usual photo prints or canvas but they also have wonderful photo books, mugs, keyrings, notebooks, photo panels, jigsaws and so much more. As E’s daddy is now working away every week and only home at weekends for two years – every time I say that I get a… View Post

Fathers Day Crafts with Bakers Ross

A couple of weeks ago E and I received a parcel from Bakers Ross, we were excited and curious to what was inside as we had recently tried out some of their Summer craft sets that they sent us and had a lot of fun. Inside the box was a lovely selection of Fathers Day Crafts. Included in the box are Fathers Day keyring sets, Dad wooden decorations, Fathers Day Face Cards, Fathers Day handprints Poem kits and a pack of T-shirt craft boxes. E was ready to get started, we started off with the Dad wooden decorations, E was attracted to these because she knew it meant she would get to do some painting. E Chose herself three different colour paints and got to work, after doing one side she then propped the sign up so she could then do the other side of the sign too. I do… View Post

My Daughter Speaks Languages I Don’t Understand…

The last few days on a few occasions I have turned to E and had to ask what she is saying’ “Mummy can’t understand the words you are saying. Please Speak English.” “Is that Spanish? What are you saying? Yes is seems that E speaks Russian, Spanish and other languages! Not very well of course, but she has started pointing at things and then will say the foreign word for them… at least I think that’s what it is? It’s so incredibly annoying I can’t begin to tell you. She has picked it up watching Russian nursery rhymes on YouTube. Yes, I’m totally going to claim an epic parenting fail on this one. It all started when I showed her nursery rhymes on you tube, she would ask for one and then after its finished it shows other suggestions and she clicks on them and listens to them. Let me just tell you, nothing is more ridiculous than not understanding the… View Post

The Reality of Motherhood

As I was growing up my mum frequently uttered the words ‘I quit!’, to which my reply was you can’t just quit! Today I find myself uttering those same words, I am starting to say the things I never thought I would! There are a few reasons why I feel like this today, it is the reality of Motherhood with out the fairy dust & sparkly shine of the happy times. I wish I was the one always asking what was for dinner. Having someone care what I like & cook for me. Know what was to be served, smelt it cooking, yet when it is served up, changed my mind. Thinking that I have my own live in chef to suit my desires and tastes. I wish I could, even though endlessly asked to put my clothes in the wash baskets, could spread out my outfit from the front door, right… View Post
