Bump Watch 33 Weeks

33 Weeks pregnant and embarking on week 34 – what a long week is appears to have been. I am starting to feel like I have been pregnant forever, but I have only started feeling that way this week because I am having a tough time with Braxton Hicks Contractions, I didn’t really get them when I was pregnant with E so it’s all very new and very uncomfortable, particularly on an evening when I finally get to put my feet up and rest. The other night they were so intense I was starting to wonder if they were heading towards the real thing.. thankfully not though. This week the average baby weighs in at over 4 pounds and 17 inches long – the average size of a pineapple. The baby’s bones are also continuing to harden at this stage too, except for those in their skull, which stay soft and… View Post

What the Ladybird Heard Next by Julia Donaldson Review

I absolutely love books and reading and E seems to have an interest in them too, she loves me reading to her and she frequently flicks through books looking at them. I look forward to when she learns to read herself so she can start to really appreciate books. Julia Donaldson is one of our favourite authors in this house so when we were sent a copy of the sequel to what the Ladybird Heard which was published in 2009, we were very excited.  What the Ladybird Heard Next by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks will be published 10th September by MacMillan Children’s Books so we are very lucky to receive an advance copy of it to review. Once upon a farm lived a ladybird, And these are the things that she saw and heard.. In What the Ladybird Heard Next robbers Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len are out of… View Post

Beefeater Restaurant Countess Wear Exeter Review

When I was asked to review the newly refurbished Beefeater at the Countess Wear in Exeter I was delighted, we love eating out as a family even though it can sometimes be challenging with a four year old. When I told E we were going to a restaurant for tea she was extremely excited as she knows it’s a big treat. Having eaten there once or twice before the refurbishment I was looking forward to seeing what they had done and how different it was. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the outside of the building had obviously been painted and was looking nice and clean. There is plenty of car parking available and we were fortunate to get one close to the entrance which was lucky with the awful wet weather. When we entered the restaurant the first thing I saw was the fab Hello… View Post

Bump Watch 32 Weeks

Well her I am at 32 weeks pregnant and embarking into week 33, the time really is ticking by now. Before I know it the little wriggler will be here. I had a midwife appointment this week and that went well, baby is still measuring a little ahead but growth must have slowed as I am now only a week ahead, which is a good thing. The midwife commented on how it is just all baby and that there is no other weight that has really been gained, apparently I am a trainee midwives dream patient as you can feel and identify different areas of the body by just touching areas of the bump. All I know is that things are getting cramped In there and every movement makes my whole tummy move and sometimes takes me by surprise. My blood pressure was a little higher compared to how low it… View Post

Photo Friday – Our Trip To Derby

The second week of the school holidays and the first week of M’s summer leave we set of for the week to go and visit family in Derby. We have been so busy since we got back that I have only really just had chance to sort through some photos. We had a nice few days away, unfortunately the weather was mostly wet and miserable. The main reason we went to visit was to meet our lovely new nephew Joey, we hadn’t had chance to until then due to M working away for several weeks. He really is such a cutie, like most newborn babies he did a lot of sleeping and feeding. E was fascinated by him and it made it talk about her being a big sister soon even more so. E was excited about meeting her new cousin Joey but was even more excited about seeing her… View Post
