Rocky Rice Review

We have recently been sent some ‘Rocky Rice’ bars to try. Whenever food that comes into the house that no one has seen before they are all really keen to try it, especially when it has chocolate involved. Rocky Rice are rice cake bars made with puffed brown rice which is then covered in yummy chocolate. They come in three different flavours – Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate & Orange and Milk Chocolate & Strawberry. E’s favourite is the Milk Chocolate and mine the Milk Chocolate & Strawberry flavoured ones. What is unique about these tasty bars is that they are Gluten free and under 100 calories. I am not sure what the availability for gluten free snacks are, purely based on that no one in this house has a need for anything gluten free. The low calorie bars make them perfect for someone trying to be more healthy because they… View Post

An Autumn walk

It is no secret that I love the summer, the sunshine, warmth and the light nights, I am not a lover of any cold seasons. This year however I have fallen in love with Autumn. I don’t know if its E that has made me this way by opening my eyes to all the beauty that I guess, I have always taken for granted. There is nothing like a child who has a zest for life to make anyone realise how beautiful or wonderful things we take for granted are.. Autumn is beautiful, lots of beautiful colours and so far the temperature hasn’t been too bad and there are even some warm sunny days, and today was one of them. After yesterdays wet and miserable stay in side and play day, I was determined to get us all out of the house today. We decided to go to the park and have a… View Post

A Girly day out in Exeter

I was thinking about going to Exeter at the weekend for a few days and E had said that she wanted to come with me, I did highlight to her that I would be going shopping. She still wanted to come along, I think she loves having some time alone with her mummy and she also knew that we would be having lunch in Exeter. So Saturday morning arrived and I decided that after E’s swimming lesson we would go on a little girly trip to Exeter. As I don’t drive E and I always catch the train to Exeter, and living by the seaside means that the journey into Exeter is really picturesque. E always makes sure we sit on the ‘seaside’ side of the train. E likes to sit on her knees so she can get a better view and then proceeds to tell me everything else she can see, it’s all really… View Post

Year one at school so far..

This year I never got round to doing a start of term post with the obligatory start of year photos of E looking super smart in her school uniform, so I thought instead I would write a post about how the first half term has gone. Seeing as I missed the start of year photos here are the comparison photos taken on the first day of each year. This years photo unfortunately isn’t very clear. I also took a photo of E in her summer uniform with J E has changed and grown up a lot in a year, it amazes me how much she learnt in reception at school and is now learning so much more. Year one has meant a lot of changes and a lot of new things for the children to get used to. Not only do they have a new teacher but the classes have been mixed… View Post

Joshua’s First Haircut

For a while I had being meaning to get Joshua’s hair trimmed, it was getting a little untidy and long in places, but it is just one of those things I hadn’t got round to doing. You know how it is, there is always something else that needs doing or something else comes up. Family members had commented that he needed a hair cut, I had said he needs a hair cut but it still didn’t get done. However, when J’s big sister E said can I put his hair in a ponytail I realised I really had to get it cut. I had planned on taking J to a playgroup this morning, however whilst walking down there I changed my mind and decided to go and get his hair cut. A lovely mummy friend showed me where a fab little hair dressers is and the fact that you didn’t… View Post
