Giveaway – Win £30 to spend at Party Bags & Supplies

The start of the school year has started and with that comes children’s party time. I have taken E to a lot of different parties since she has started school.  No doubt there will be many more. One thing that is evident from the parties is how much cost and effort goes into them. Whether a parent has hired a village hall or having a party at home the expense of sorting out the party table wear, decorations and party bags soon adds up. If you have a party to organise I recommend popping over to Party Bags & Supplies website. It is a great website that sells everything you could possibly need to make your party look amazing. I am impressed with Party Bags & Supplies, they really do have a wide range of products you can buy. I love that they also have ready made party bags. One lucky… View Post

Online Shopping

Whilst I love a girlie day out shopping, I’m often left frustrated moving from one shop to another trying to find the item that I’m looking for, in my size.  It’s no wonder that in the vast majority of cases, I turn to online shopping.  It’s so much easier for me, as I can see all of the different pieces available with ease, by browsing and searching the web and I can compare prices right then and there.  Delivery is often free or at least far cheaper than a bus, train ticket or parking. The beauty of online shopping is that you can try items on in the comfort of your own home. The changing room fluorescent lights in shops are not always that flattering. Catalogue shopping has become more popular over the years and I can see why. I shop online at so many different websites including websites that are online… View Post

Don’t Try And Be The Mum You’re Not

She’s so organised and seems to be able to keep her house beautifully neat. She’s so hospitable and is always comfortable for people to visit her home. She always looks amazing. I don’t know how she does it. She’s so creative and thinks of cool things to do. She’s so active and takes her kids everywhere. She’s always so patient, gentle and kind. I’ve never heard her raise her voice. She’s funny and makes everyone around her laugh. She bakes and cooks everything from scratch. If I look for generalisations, I’ll surely find them. When I do find them, I see the many things I’m not as a mum (but would like to be). It’s easy to fall into the trap of worrying I’m not giving my children all they need because I can’t be all the things I see in others. Some of the many  things I am not I’m… View Post

Roald Dahl Day

13th September is Roald Dahl Day – a day when we celebrate a literary genius birthday. Roald Dahl was a novelist, poet, screen writer and a builder of imaginative lands. Roald Dahl is one of the most celebrated English authors – for both children and adults. Some of Roald Dahl’s most famous incarnations – Willy Wonka, the Oompa Lumpas’  for example remain famous characters Roald Dahl is an author of whose books I love. As a child I loved reading his books, they set my imagination on fire. They are funny, some a bit gruesome and some a little scary. Well they were when I was little. The big friendly giant appearing at windows, or the enormous crocodile and the size of his teeth. I remember those well. I still have a couple of books I had from my childhood. Both were firm favourites. The excitement of Georges marvellous medicine and… View Post

5 Stylish Bunk Bed Ideas for Maximising Space in Style

A lot of houses have smaller bedrooms and putting two beds in the same room isn’t always feasible. Particularly for children as it leaves no space to play. Bunk Beds are normally the only way of maximising space. When I was younger I used to love going to my Aunties house because my brother and I used to get to sleep in a bunk bed. I thought this was so much fun. Now as an adult I see that a bunk bed is the perfect way to sleep more than one child in a bedroom. I have spoken to a couple of fellow bloggers that have bunk bed’s. They have spoken to me about how bunk beds are important to save space. Lynne from A Day In The Life Of A Mum of 6 told me that she has 6 children in a 4 bedroom house. She said ‘ My girls are… View Post
