Rowntree’s 30% Less Sugar Sweets

I have a bit of a thing for sweets, to the point that I attempted to give them up for lent. I would say I am more of sweet than chocolate girl.  So when I was contacted and asked if I wanted to try Rowntree’s 30% less sugar Randoms and Fruit Pastilles I obviously said yes! When the sweets turned up me and my husband opened up the packs and tried them. Savouring each one we tried to figure out if they were any different. First we started off with Fruit Pastilles – now I am a huge fan of Fruit Pastilles. They are chewy, juicy and tasty so I was keen to know if they tasted any different. I was pleasantly surprised that they tasted the same, the only difference was the shape of them. Next we tried the Randoms. Quite often they sneakily appear in our shopping trolley or can be… View Post

Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Six Year Old

Last year I wrote a post Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Five Year Old. Fast forward a year later, I decided to ask the same 20 Questions with My Six Year Old. This time last year E was just finishing reception, where has that time gone. E has changed so much, she has grown into a funny, intelligent little lady. She also has the attitude of a six year old. Here are the questions and her answers. 1. What is something that Mummy says to you? Your my big baby! I have only said this a couple of times recently. It had been said during a conversation about how she is growing up too quickly. Time is going to fast. 2. What makes you happy? Chocolate. This made me laugh when she said this, I know there are a lot of things that make her happy. However at 8am this morning… View Post

An Outfit For Every Occasion With Love The Sales

I am a bargain hunter and quite frequently I can be heard saying “I got it in the sale”. These days I am normally browsing the sales for clothes for the children. When it comes to shopping for me I am always last. Sales shopping online is easy and stress free. I love going shopping but the sale rails rarely have the sizes I want and after a few shops the children start moaning. I can spend ages browsing all the different websites, which is really time consuming. So when I was told about Love The Sales, a website that shows all the sales that are online in one place, I couldn’t wait to have a look. Love the Sales is a referral website and has almost every brand I could think off. Looking around the website, I decided to make some wish lists – my husband frowned at this as he knows… View Post

Staycation Ideas for Families

Just to be completely honest, I have to say that I DREAM of going on holiday. The idea of only spending fun, quality, stress-free (OK, almost stress-free) time with my family in the sunshine some where is so tempting. When it comes to going on holiday, I am NOT a home-girl. I love to travel and see and experience new things, but sometimes our finances or other things prevent us from going away.. That’s where staycations (a holiday at home) come into play. It is definitely possible to make a staycation work. Your family can have fun, unwind and enjoy many of the things you enjoy on a planned out of city/state vacation. It just takes a little bit more forethought and creativity — but it sure does save a pretty penny or two! In order to make a staycation feel like a real vacation, discuss with your family some… View Post

My 5 Favourite Things

I wouldn’t say I was a nosey person but I do like reading about other people’s lives. Just as people read my blog. The lovely Jen who writes a blog called Just Average Jen tagged and challenged me to write about my 5 favourite things. Originally I thought this would be really easy, but it turns out it really isn’t. The obvious favourite things, well people in the world are my family and friends. Today however I am going to write about actual items I own that I love. My Camera Several years ago a good friend of mine bought himself a new camera so I acquired his old one. From that point on I became in love with photography. Several years later I upgraded to a new DSLR. I am not a very good photographer but that is because I need to learn how to use my camera properly. Since I updated my camera I… View Post
