BigJigs Fire & Rescue train set review

We were very excited when the Bigjigs Fire & Rescue train set turned up for us to review. E couldn’t wait to get it out of the box to play with it.

Rainbow Toy Awards

The train set includes enough track to make a decent sized figure of eight with a ramp going up and down through the fire station. The set also includes some great little extra’s to add to the fun of the set and gave E lots of scope for using her imagination whilst playing.

The detail of the Fire & Rescue train set is great, one of mine and E’s favourite parts of the set is the cat that sits in the tree, she loves using one of the fireman figures included to rescue the cat. The poor cat is constantly stuck up in that tree and needs rescuing. This really is a fun addition to the set.

Cat Stuck up a Tree

The fire station is great, the train has a little ramp up to it and one that comes down. It took a couple of attempts of moving track pieces to make the train come down the ramp easily and not to get stuck. E really likes the ramp and how the train goes down it alone and around the bend. The set also includes two firemen, a fire engine, some fire, a water hose, a cone and a fire train with two carriages.

All the included items really brings the train set to life and offer plenty of scenarios for play. We have had the cat rescued, fire on the track, fire on the train and even a man stuck up a tree! The set has been played with a lot since it has turned up, even J has taken an interest with it. J loves watching E play with it and laughs at the train going down the ramp and he has also taken a shine to the fire engine and the fire and occasionally pulling up some of the track that E then has to get the fire men to build it! I just know that when J gets older he is also going to get hours of enjoyment playing with the set.

Playing with the BigJigs fire & Rescue train setI am really impressed with how well made the train set is, all the items are very solid and the attention to detail is fantastic. You can buy the Fire Station Train Set from the BigJigs website and other retailers and costs £39.99. I think everything that is included in the set is great value for money.

Here is a little clip of E having fun with the train set.

Disclosure – We were sent the set in exchange for an honest review, all words and opinions are our own.
