A Girly day out in Exeter

I was thinking about going to Exeter at the weekend for a few days and E had said that she wanted to come with me, I did highlight to her that I would be going shopping. She still wanted to come along, I think she loves having some time alone with her mummy and she also knew that we would be having lunch in Exeter. So Saturday morning arrived and I decided that after E’s swimming lesson we would go on a little girly trip to Exeter. As I don’t drive E and I always catch the train to Exeter, and living by the seaside means that the journey into Exeter is really picturesque. E always makes sure we sit on the ‘seaside’ side of the train. E likes to sit on her knees so she can get a better view and then proceeds to tell me everything else she can see, it’s all really… View Post

Beefeater Restaurant Countess Wear Exeter Review

When I was asked to review the newly refurbished Beefeater at the Countess Wear in Exeter I was delighted, we love eating out as a family even though it can sometimes be challenging with a four year old. When I told E we were going to a restaurant for tea she was extremely excited as she knows it’s a big treat. Having eaten there once or twice before the refurbishment I was looking forward to seeing what they had done and how different it was. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the outside of the building had obviously been painted and was looking nice and clean. There is plenty of car parking available and we were fortunate to get one close to the entrance which was lucky with the awful wet weather. When we entered the restaurant the first thing I saw was the fab Hello… View Post

Our trip to Lulworth Cove

Over the Easter period we went to Dorset for a week in a Caravan, we didn’t get the best weather, we only had rain once, but we made the most of it and had a great time. On a sunny yet blustery day we ventured to Lulworth Cove, I had seen so many photos of the place and also on television that I wanted to go and take a look. The Cove was formed by the combined forces of the sea and a river swollen by melting ice at the end of the last Ice Age, it has created a beautiful landform that is very popular with tourists. We managed to get a few photos but none of them are amazing, E decided today was the day for not wanting her photo taken and to look grumpy if the camera turned her way. It amazes me how she knows a camera… View Post

Sail with Santa – with Stuart lines Cruises in Exmouth

One of the many fun things we did before Christmas was go on a Sail with Santa Cruise. Stuart lines cruises in Exmouth operate various boat trips all year round and during December they run there Sail with Santa cruises. Hour long cruises around the bay which are full of fun for children and very enjoyable for the adults. We first took E on the sail with santa cruise in December 2013 and as she really enjoyed herself  we decided to go again this year. We arranged to go with some friends of ours and their daughter – E’s best friend. Tickets for the Sail with Santa cruise cost £8 per person and it is worth every penny, especially when I see how much E enjoys herself. As soon as you board the boat we were greeted with lots of festive cheer, staff dressed up as Elves or wearing fantastic Christmas jumpers, the… View Post

Our trip to Exeter museum

Ever since E watched a Peppa Pig television episode about going to the museum she quite often talks about museums, despite she has never been to one. I was aware that there was a museum in Exeter but had no idea what it was like. Before I mentioned it to E I did a little research on their website and we also exchanged a few messages on twitter. On a previous occasion whilst shopping we walked past the museum and E enquired what the building was so I told her, she really wanted to go in but I told her another day as we were shopping. So a week later one rather dreary morning I asked if she would like to go to the museum, I have never seen her get dressed so quickly! We caught the train into Exeter which she loved, she absolutely loves looking out of the window… View Post
