My Home Improvement’s Wish List

During the summer months we are outside a lot, making the most of the longer days and the sunshine. Letting the children run around and going on little adventures. It is only when the colder months creep up on us that I am aware of our home. The mess, the furniture and soft furnishings and the general lack of snuggly comfy things. There are quite a lot of home improvements I would like to do. Firstly and most importantly is our bedroom. We have lived here a while now and it is the one room that hasn’t yet been decorated. One of the reasons being we can’t decide on a colour. We have talked about built-in furniture as It would give us more space, I am not sure about it as of yet. What I do want is some cosy bedding, new curtains and other furnishings. I have always fancied… View Post

The Definitive Guide to a Contemporary Garden

Gardening is not my forte, however I do long for a lovely garden to relax in. A garden that look’s great yet still has some space for the children to play. Traditional gardens are great, apart from all the weeding, however more contemporary gardens tend to stand out from the rest.  Modern-day gardens stand out from other traditional gardens. They are unique and beautiful. Not only that they are normally low maintenance. This is just what we need in our house. We do not have green fingers. I frequently see amazing gardens online or in magazines and think how nice it would be to have something like that. I hate our garden, the Concrete, the mess. It serves a purpose for the children, however it needs a certain something to make it beautiful. Having a contemporary garden can be achieved. Everything depends on the design you opt for, declutter your garden… View Post

Stay at home Date Night

We are in the situation that we don’t live anywhere near family, so we don’t really have a support network. Most of the time this isn’t an issue. However sometimes it would be nice to have someone we could get to babysit so we could have a date night. My hubby and I have only been out once, child free, in six years. I personally think this is pretty rubbish. Unfortunately we don’t have anyone to babysit, so we can have the occasional night out. J has been a terrible sleeper until the last four months so leaving him with anyone but family wouldn’t work. Our only option is a stay at home date night, which  is ok. The only problem we have is making time for it.  I spend my evenings working and M spends his evening with his feet up on his phone. When we have had a date night… View Post

5 Stylish Bunk Bed Ideas for Maximising Space in Style

A lot of houses have smaller bedrooms and putting two beds in the same room isn’t always feasible. Particularly for children as it leaves no space to play. Bunk Beds are normally the only way of maximising space. When I was younger I used to love going to my Aunties house because my brother and I used to get to sleep in a bunk bed. I thought this was so much fun. Now as an adult I see that a bunk bed is the perfect way to sleep more than one child in a bedroom. I have spoken to a couple of fellow bloggers that have bunk bed’s. They have spoken to me about how bunk beds are important to save space. Lynne from A Day In The Life Of A Mum of 6 told me that she has 6 children in a 4 bedroom house. She said ‘ My girls are… View Post

Learning with Education Quizzes – Review

With the summer school holidays coming to a close. I am aware that it has been a long time since E has done any school work. It is easy for children to forget everything they have been taught over the last year. Because of this, is it sometimes important to have a quick recap over the work from the last year. Education Quizzes is a great website for practicing and learning. After being told about Education Quizzes I was keen to get E to have a go at some of the quizzes. E loves learning for which we are lucky. She is a bright young girl who does well at school, however we know she struggles with her maths. So I thought I would let her have a go at some of the KS1 maths quizzes for pupils. There are at least 100 different maths quizzes covering different topics. The quizzes… View Post
