Back to School – Year Two

Here is the obligatory back to School post. I cant believe my little girl has started year two. It really doesn’t seem that long ago since she started reception. We have had a great summer holidays, there have been a few cheeky moments from E, some boredom which I think is good for a child – gives them the chance to use their imagination. There have been a few day trips and then a trip to see family in Derby. So we have been quite busy. I can frequently be heard saying that E has so many toys and yet she doesn’t play with anything. She has made me eat my words these last few weeks by playing with most of her toys. Her imagination has truly come alive. I have had my moments of wishing she was going back to school, but now it’s actually here I wish she wasn’t… View Post

Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Six Year Old

Last year I wrote a post Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Five Year Old. Fast forward a year later, I decided to ask the same 20 Questions with My Six Year Old. This time last year E was just finishing reception, where has that time gone. E has changed so much, she has grown into a funny, intelligent little lady. She also has the attitude of a six year old. Here are the questions and her answers. 1. What is something that Mummy says to you? Your my big baby! I have only said this a couple of times recently. It had been said during a conversation about how she is growing up too quickly. Time is going to fast. 2. What makes you happy? Chocolate. This made me laugh when she said this, I know there are a lot of things that make her happy. However at 8am this morning… View Post

Our Trip To London – Day One

Just before the Easter weekend E and I went to London. I know this was a little while ago now. However, E keep’s talking about all the fun she had so I thought I would share some of our adventures. Most of it is photos and as we did so much I have decided to write three posts, hopefully you wont get too bored. No yawning! We travelled up to London on a Tuesday, arriving in London at midday at Paddingt0n, I had already pre booked tickets for the London eye so we headed straight there. Having lived in London and visited many a time, I was quite apprehensive about taking E. The first thing I was worried about was the underground. Not the actual train but the escalaters.  Seriously, have you seen how steep they are? Some of them resemble small ski slopes. I always get a bit worried stepping onto them.… View Post

My Five Year Old’s New Years Resolution

Many people make new years resolutions, I have even made some myself which you can read here – New Years Resolutions. Some people manage their resolutions and other crumble after the first few weeks. When I was talking about New Years resolutions over dinner, E started to ask questions about why people make resolutions so I explained to her that people make them because they want to try to achieve something or change something about them. After a long chat E decided that she wanted to make a new years resolution and after some influence she has decided she is going to try new food this year. E is a fairly fussy eater, not as bad as some but she knows what she likes and enjoys and is frequently reluctant to try new foods. Things have improved since she started school and has had school dinners, she tried more food items… View Post
