One of the many fun things we did before Christmas was go on a Sail with Santa Cruise. Stuart lines cruises in Exmouth operate various boat trips all year round and during December they run there Sail with Santa cruises. Hour long cruises around the bay which are full of fun for children and very enjoyable for the adults.
We first took E on the sail with santa cruise in December 2013 and as she really enjoyed herself we decided to go again this year. We arranged to go with some friends of ours and their daughter – E’s best friend.
Tickets for the Sail with Santa cruise cost £8 per person and it is worth every penny, especially when I see how much E enjoys herself.
As soon as you board the boat we were greeted with lots of festive cheer, staff dressed up as Elves or wearing fantastic Christmas jumpers, the boat was decorated with Christmas dec’s and there was also some Christmas music playing.
No sooner were we sat down mulled wine and mince pies were bought round the adults and squash and biscuits for the children. E loved kneeling on a seat and looking out of the window and watching the world go by.
There was so many things to do on board, there was balloon modelling, E asked for a duck, but unfortunately the balloon modeller didn’t do ducks so she settled with a parrot. No idea why she wanted a duck, so random. She then decided she wanted to get her face painted, the face painter was only doing small festive face paintings, probably due to time and the vast amount of children.
E chose to have a snowman which looked really cute and her best friend had a penguin. They both loved having their face’s painted.
After eating all the goodies, having a couple of drinks it was time to go and see the big man! The bottom of the boat is turned into a large Santas Grotto, the elves take you down the steps and there is a wonderful father Christmas, looking all jolly and surrounded with piles of presents. E had a little chat with him and told him what she wanted for Christmas, she was then given a present and then there was a photographer taking photos of you all with Santa.
Not the greatest family photo, all the photos taken were free to download from the photographers website which is nice added extra. The photo does make me smile though as we all have are fun Christmas jumpers on!
The Sail with Santa cruise was a lot of fun and we will plan to go next year as well.
