Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Six Year Old

Last year I wrote a post Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Five Year Old. Fast forward a year later, I decided to ask the same 20 Questions with My Six Year Old. This time last year E was just finishing reception, where has that time gone. E has changed so much, she has grown into a funny, intelligent little lady. She also has the attitude of a six year old. Here are the questions and her answers. 1. What is something that Mummy says to you? Your my big baby! I have only said this a couple of times recently. It had been said during a conversation about how she is growing up too quickly. Time is going to fast. 2. What makes you happy? Chocolate. This made me laugh when she said this, I know there are a lot of things that make her happy. However at 8am this morning… View Post

My Five Year Old’s New Years Resolution

Many people make new years resolutions, I have even made some myself which you can read here – New Years Resolutions. Some people manage their resolutions and other crumble after the first few weeks. When I was talking about New Years resolutions over dinner, E started to ask questions about why people make resolutions so I explained to her that people make them because they want to try to achieve something or change something about them. After a long chat E decided that she wanted to make a new years resolution and after some influence she has decided she is going to try new food this year. E is a fairly fussy eater, not as bad as some but she knows what she likes and enjoys and is frequently reluctant to try new foods. Things have improved since she started school and has had school dinners, she tried more food items… View Post

Interviewing Emily: 20 Questions With My Five Year Old

Several years ago when E was three I wrote a post – An Interview With My Thee Year Old, it seems like it was only a few months ago, where does the time go. I came across the post I wrote before and I thought I would ask E the same questions now she is five so I can see how her answers have change. 1. What is something that Mummy says to you? What did you do at School today. I do ask that question every day and I very rarely get much information out of her, it’s almost like school is some secret place that grown ups are no allowed to know about. 2. What makes you happy? When we go on the train to go shopping together, I like shopping, shall we go shopping on Saturday mummy? I do love the thought process of an answer to a simple… View Post

Photo Friday – Our Trip To Derby

The second week of the school holidays and the first week of M’s summer leave we set of for the week to go and visit family in Derby. We have been so busy since we got back that I have only really just had chance to sort through some photos. We had a nice few days away, unfortunately the weather was mostly wet and miserable. The main reason we went to visit was to meet our lovely new nephew Joey, we hadn’t had chance to until then due to M working away for several weeks. He really is such a cutie, like most newborn babies he did a lot of sleeping and feeding. E was fascinated by him and it made it talk about her being a big sister soon even more so. E was excited about meeting her new cousin Joey but was even more excited about seeing her… View Post
