Almost Perfect Parenting

I make no secret of the fact that I am a less than perfect mum. In fact, I think the reason people like to read this blog is because it makes them feel good about the way they parent. At the very least, they learn that they are not alone in their sub-par efforts. But if I’m being really honest, I should probably admit that I’m not always being really honest. There are some things that I feel more embarrassed about and therefore, less inclined to share. Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

I have mentioned before that unfortunately my husband works away quite a lot (way too much!), with his job. There are times that this has started to affect E, she sometimes takes it out on me and becomes the devils child. When daddy is around, E still wants me to do everything for her, so unfortunately I never get a rest. Sometimes when Martin is away I get on a train and head down to Cornwall and last Tuesday we did just that. I chose to pack on the Monday afternoon whilst E was at her weekly pre school session, trying to pack light with a three-year old isn’t easy. I managed to condense what we might need into a rucksack and another small bag and E’s day rucksack. Still quite a lot to take on and off two different trains with a toddler in tow.
