Joshua’s Birth Story

Having finally announced the arrival of Joshua on the blog the other day I thought I would share with you Joshua’s birth story. Joshua was born on the 7th October 2015 at 9.21am, he came into the world earlier than anticipated. My due date was the 19th October by my dates and the 11th October based on the first scan. Joshua weighed 8lb 3oz and is perfect, I do wonder if I had gone full term how heavy he would have been. My pregnancy wasn’t the easiest compared to when I was pregnant with E, I put it down to being four years older and also having to look after E. I had low blood pressure throughout and very low iron levels, so I had the delight of taking an iron supplement which was supposed to help with the constant tiredness. It helped a little but not as much as I hoped. At… View Post

Bump Watch 36 Weeks

36 weeks eek… Only four weeks give or take left to go! That is kind of exciting but also quite scary at the same time. Now that E has started school full time I am slowly getting some time back to myself. This is lovely but I am aware this is only for a few weeks so I better not get too used to it! I sometimes wonder my sanity for starting all over again. At this stage the average baby weighs almost 6lbs and is more than 18 and half inches long. This is equivalent to a water melon or the size of a head of a romaine lettuce. The baby is still gaining weight at the stage getting ready for its entry into the world. The baby’s hearing is also extra sharp during these last few weeks and may develop favourite sounds or songs that It will enjoy after it is born. With E… View Post

Bump Watch 32 Weeks

Well her I am at 32 weeks pregnant and embarking into week 33, the time really is ticking by now. Before I know it the little wriggler will be here. I had a midwife appointment this week and that went well, baby is still measuring a little ahead but growth must have slowed as I am now only a week ahead, which is a good thing. The midwife commented on how it is just all baby and that there is no other weight that has really been gained, apparently I am a trainee midwives dream patient as you can feel and identify different areas of the body by just touching areas of the bump. All I know is that things are getting cramped In there and every movement makes my whole tummy move and sometimes takes me by surprise. My blood pressure was a little higher compared to how low it… View Post

Bump Watch 31 Weeks

31 Weeks pregnant, I really am on the home stretch now. My bump feels like it is massive..I suppose it’s all relative, but I’m reminded of my size when I try to do things like get up off the floor or squeeze between two cars in a car park and I know its only going to get bigger. So, we have 9 weeks until the baby is due. Of course, one never knows when baby will decide to make its entrance and if it is anything like E it wont be here on time. She was eleven days over based on the hospital’s date and a week over based on my dates. It is said that the average baby at 31 weeks pregnant measures over 16 inches long and weighs about 3 1/3 pounds  – roughly the size of a coconut and is heading towards a growth spurt. I guess my… View Post

Bump Watch 30 Weeks

30 Weeks pregnant, wow! To think I only announced on my blog ten weeks ago that I was pregnant – the time really is flying by. Only another ten weeks, give or take the little wriggler will be here with us. We are still nowhere near ready for the arrival of the little one, this coming week we are having work done in the spare room ready to turn it into E’s big girl room, once that is done I can start getting all the baby stuff sorted. Lets hope the little wriggler doesn’t arrive early as the house is upside down at the moment with things everywhere. It is said that the average baby at 30 weeks is about 15.7 inches long now and weighs almost 3 pounds, A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds the baby but that amount shrinks as the baby takes up more… View Post
