Buying gifts for toddler’s can always be tricky. They are in the in between stage. Some toys are too babyish and some of the 3+ toys are not always suitable. There are so many great gifts available, it’s just finding them. Hopefully this guide will give you some great ideas.
1. Wow Toys Ernie Fire Engine
Ernie is a decent size fire engine. It is very chunky and sturdy, perfect for little hands. It comes with one fire fighter figure and one safety barrier accessory. There are plenty of great features for little ones to explore. The front and back both open to allow you to put characters or accessories in and out. The ladder on the fire engine lifts up and down and also has a cog type button that can be used to rotate the ladder around. Toddlers will find it easy to use as it is nice and chunky. There are no batteries required for Ernie or any of the Wow Toys, but they do move along with friction power. Push it along and it continues moving and it almost sounds like a vehicle’s engine.
Ernie the Engine would be a brilliant first fire engine, from 1.5 years and it would then grow with the child. It’s an ideal size, and with the figure included and lots to open and close and move around, it is one of the best toddler fire engines I have seen. Age 18 months plus. 2. Duplo My First Truck
Duplo always makes a great gift for toddlers and pre-schoolers. The Duplo My first truck is nice and chunky and easy to build – It is safe for little hands. The set includes 2 child LEGO® DUPLO® figures, a cat, a crate for unloading and 16 bricks (8 pairs) decorated with food produce as a play starter. The colourful food decorated bricks are also perfect for playing matching games. The truck teaches your children colours, matching and of course the role play side of things. 3. Cat Roll and Go Harry Haulin’ Dump Truck
The Cat Haulin’ Harry Roll and Go dump truck is great fun to play with. The dump truck has big fat tyres like a typical truck. There are two big headlights and two smaller lights. This wonderful dump truck is equipped with a spin ball that activated motorised action. Children can spin the red ball and Harry will go forwards or backwards. The truck then lights up and makes sounds, plays music and it also talks. One of the funny parts of Harry is his crazy eyes that go side to side as he goes on a drive. 4. Jo Jo Maman Bebe Pocket Dinosaurs
The Jo Jo Maman Pocket Dinosaurs are great. They would make the perfect gift for any dinosaur fan. The set comes in a little box with a carry handle. Inside the box are 18 items, there are Dinosaurs, tree’s and volcanos. The set it made from wood and very colourful. They stand up easily which is great, especially when a toddler wants to do it themselves. The Pocket Dinosaurs are perfect for getting a child to use their imagination. The dinosaur set is great fun to play with for toddlers and pre-schoolers of all ages. I keep finding these wonderful dinosaurs where ever we go. The Pocket Dinosaurs are suitable from 18 months. 5. Teletubbies Inflatable Aqua Mat
The Teletubbies aqua mat is a brilliant sensory mat for the younger child. Once you inflate the mat you then have to fill it with water. To do so you need to press the valve in to be able to fill it. Once it is filled up your child can jump on it, lie on it and also use their hands. It is like a puddle with no mess. The teletubbies float in the water and children can have great fun patting them and moving them around. The aqua mat is a brilliant indoor toy that is full of sensory fun. Age 6 month + RRP £12.99. 6. Jo Jo Maman Bebe Picnic Basket
This beautiful Jo Jo Maman Bebe Picnic basket is a wonderful role play toy. Attention to detail on this toy is brilliant. The basket is lined with a beautiful gingham material and inside the basket is a range of wooden food items and tableware. Each piece of food can be pulled apart and put back together with Velcro. This makes sharing the food with a friend fun. All of the items are painted lovely bright colours. There is enough food to have a fun picnic for two people. After the children have played it is so simple to put it all away with the blanket into the basket. This really is a wonderful toy for children of all ages will enjoy playing with. 7. Hape Instant Waffle Maker
The Hape waffle maker is another great role play toy. Children can pretend to make yummy waffles for breakfast or any meal they wish. Kitchen and cooking related toys are always a firm favourite with children of all ages, they can really use their imagination with his set. In the box there are twelve pieces. The waffle maker, 4 waffles, 4 felt strawberries, tongues, a plate and syrup to put on the waffles. The quality of the set is of a high standard, it is made from FSC certified wood and finished with child-safe paint. 8. Teletubbies Stacking Blocks
All toddler’s love to stack blocks as high as they can and then knock them over. The Teletubbbies stacking blocks are perfect for just that. The blocks are made from strong cardboard and are really colourful and eye-catching. The blocks nest inside each other for storage. The dimensions are 6.5cm³, 7.8cm³, 9.2cm³, 10.6cm³ & 12cm³.
