Christmas is on its way, all the Christmas adverts are now on television. The Coco Cola advert has been aired. This signifies that it’s almost time to get festive!
The start of December is all about advent calendars for the children, however in the past few years the Elf on the Shelf has become a big thing. It started in America – as most commercial things do. Eventually is came across the pond and has slowly become more popular.
The concept is, that an elf comes to stay with a family and every night they report back to father Christmas about how well the children are behaving. When they get back, the elf gets up to mischief!
This will be our third year of having an elf to visit. The first year we had Buddy and last year Jingle joined us. That way both the kids had an elf. Two naughty elves will be visiting us again this year. The children will be delighted, they look forward to finding the elf in the morning.
As a parent, thinking of mischievous and funny antics for your elf, can leave you scratching your head. Here are twenty-four ideas, one for each day of your elf visiting.
1. Do you want to build a Snowman?
A fun one for the children to find.

2. I’m Back!
There are plenty of ways you can let your children know that the elf is back. Our elf arrives with advent calendars and a note on a chalk board saying they are back.
3. Elves Rule!
Grab some decorators tape or sticker and write a large message

4. Snow Angel
Scatter some flour on the work top and let your elf have some snow angel fun.

Its tiring going back to see father Christmas every night. Sometimes and elf needs his sleep.

This is a fun one. The elf can fish in a bowl or even in a sink.

Put your elf in pot, add some water and freeze. My daughter loves finding her elf frozen.

14. Sack Race
If you can find or make some little bags, then this one is a must.

15. Toothpaste Elf
Even Elves have to keep up with their dental hygiene!

Elf’s seem to like playing with toilet roll. This is always to the delight of children.

Use your child’s favourite book, they will love it.

18. Watching a Film
A film, popcorn. Need to get the t.v on before the kids come down!

19. Christmas Tree
Camouflage your little elf, the children will have so much fun trying to find him.

20. Swinging Elf
Make a little swing for your elf. Nice and simple using a toilet roll.

21. Elfie Selfie
Smile!

22. Making a Mess
Making snowflakes or just cutting up anything.

23. Elf Has a Drink

24. Elf Leaves a Gift
On Christmas Eve the elf has departed and gone back to the North Pole. It could be a little gift or a Christmas Eve box.
After 24 days, give yourself a pat on the back for surviving another year with Elf on the shelf.
