I absolutely love books and its something I try to encourage E to be interested in too, from an early age we have read to her every night and frequently she gets a book and sits and looks at them during the day.
Alfie Outdoors is the brand new Alfie book. The book is about the outside world and is written and illustrated by Shirley Hughes.
When we were given the opportunity to read and review the new Alfie book I was thrilled. I remember reading Shirley Hughes books when I was also a child. I was looking forward to reading this one with E.
The book is about Alfie and his outdoors adventures. In the story Alfie is out in the garden with his dad, learning all about growing things from seeds. His adventures teach him that food has to grow in the ground before it reaches the shops. During the story he gets to visit a garden centre, play in the garden and he also visits his special friend at the Goat Sanctuary.
Both E and I love the illustrations in the book. Look how detailed they are.
Both E and I love the book, it really is charming and I love to read the story to her. E told me that her favourite part of the story is when Alfie is digging with his Dad and they finds lots of creatures. E loves gardening with her daddy and looking for wriggly worms. So she was able to relate to how much fun it is. Itis safe to say this lovely story has captured E’s imagination. As a parent I found the book a joy to read. The words flow well and there are plenty of different things to talk about in the book.
E loves her new Alfie book. I think that this book is just the start of the many Alfie books that we will be reading.
Alfie Outdoors was published on the 30th of July and is available on Amazon and other good book shops.
Are there any books that you love to read with your child?
