Christmas Party food

Christmas Party Food Ideas

It is the season to start juggling a hundred different things. Presents, food, work, family. The run up to Christmas can turn into a chaotic mess. And then a letter arrives home from school. Please send in a plate of party food, or the playgroup, church or work place is having a children’s party.

And finally, maybe you just want something a bit fun and interesting to put out on Christmas Eve. Whatever the reason here’s a few fabulous christmas food ideas that I have found on the internet and they all look like a lot of fun and I can guarantee that E will love them as she loves anything that is fun food or party food.

Snowman Cupcakes

Snowman Cakes

Now these are pretty cool looking snowman cupcakes, and if you want to make them look this good, the recipe and instructions for this icing decoration can be found HERE.

Personally, I’d be more inclined to just make up some white icing, stick a mouth and eyes on using chocolate decorating dots, and mini chocolate buttons, and some orange sweet for its nose.

Santa-Sleighs

Santa Sleighs

Next up, Santa’s Sleigh. What I really like about this recipe, found on the Best Recipes website, is that it is a no-bake recipe. You’re basically putting together a number of different Christmas treats in one cute little package. These will also make cute gifts wrapped in some cellophane.

It uses a mix of melted chocolate and icing sugar to make the base stick to the candy canes, and the sleigh itself is simply a Milky Way bar. I think this one would be a great success with E.

Strawberry Santa’s

I do believe that you should eat fruit and vegetables in season, and I don’t like buying food that has obviously been hot housed or imported. But a plate full of these Strawberry Santa’s may well be my exception to the rule. First, they are the cutest Christmas snack I have come across. Second, they’re at least a little bit healthy. And third, they look dead easy to make.

One punnet of strawberries, a can of whipped cream, and some strawberry jam to stick them down on the plate.

Take a look at this website for more information and how to make these wonderful healthy treats.

Christmas-Tree-Meringues

Meringue Christmas Tree

It just isn’t Christmas without a Christmas tree. I am absolutely in love with these particular Meringue Christmas Trees. If, like me, you love meringue, then this is simply genius. Dead easy to make (if you’re capable of making meringue – I’ve never tried it myself! Will let you know how it works out). I would also be tempted to decorate these with some edible glitter. Such a cute christmas party food.

ReindeerCookies

Reindeer Biscuits

Where would Santa be without his faithful reindeer? He certainly wouldn’t be able to make all his deliveries. I found this fairly simple recipe on the Baker Girl Website. These are peanut butter cookies but could be made with normal sugar cookies. The small mini brown M&Ms and the standard red M&Ms make perfect eyes and red nose. You could always use smarties too.

All of these fun Christmas recipes look like a lot of fun and fairly simple to make. I may disagree with my own statement once I have attempted them all!

I am not the most creative of bakers, but as these don’t seem to require too much skill I will be giving them a go and I am sure E will love them regardless of how the end up looking. So keep checking back to the blog so you can laugh at my attempts of these wonderful Christmas party foods.

  1. There are some really cute and imginative ideas there! I know a lot of schools and nurseries won’t let parents send food in nowadays and rely on donations so the teachers can buy the food but there’s nothing like a home made buffet at Christmas time! Brings back so many memories!

  2. Awww these are so blimmin’ adorable! When you break each thing down to individual components they actually look quite simple yet so effective.
