Liverpool is renowned for its picturesque waterfront, cultural activities, musical influence and its amazing events. Liverpool is a great place for a day trip as there really are so many great things to do for the whole family.
There’s no better place to explore the wonders of the natural world than the World Museum Liverpool, where you can see everything from live colonies of insects to historic zoological and botanical exhibits. The first floor hosts a small aquarium, whilst the second one has a bug house with leaf cutter ants. The higher floors cover topics like the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and world cultures. There is also an amazing Dinosaur exhibition which children love.
A fantastic shopping venue with over 170 stores, great bars and tantalising restaurants, it is a great place to visit. Liverpool ONE also hosts a variety of events throughout the year. This spring they have some free roar-some dinosaur themed events. Using the latest technology Liverpool One have an app called Discover Liverpool One. You can follow dinosaurs around the shopping centre. Hatch dinosaur eggs and watch them grow, nurture them, feed them via a range of special augmented features. It will be transformed to a real-life Jurassic Invasion with plenty of dinosaurs to see and activities.
The Albert Dock is in the heart of the city and a great place to wander around. Liverpool’s World Heritage Site waterfront. Featuring the largest collection of Grade 1 listed buildings in the country as well as a huge selection of museums, restaurants and bars. The views are meant to be amazing too so it’s a must see when visiting Liverpool.
The Beetles Story
A trip to Liverpool isn’t complete without taking some time to learn a little about the iconic band the Beetles. During a trip to the Beetles story will you find out probably more than you’ll ever need to know about the band, you’ll get a taste of the swinging ’60s too, with recreations of The Casbah, Mathew Street and The Cavern.
The Mersey Ferry
Discover the legacy of Liverpool and the River Mersey, with its musical and maritime past. At the very least you will get an amazing view from the city. The river explorer cruise, a 50 minute trip that takes in the best views of Liverpool Waterside, whilst also taking you on a whistle-stop tour of the history of the area. You can hop off on the other side of the river and explore the area including the U-boat story attractions.
