What a week! Unfortunately the blog has been neglected this last week as there has been so much happening.
The week started well with M being off from work so E managed to get some rare time with Daddy whilst I faced the hoards and went Christmas shopping in Exeter – it is safe to say I prefer online shopping, especially at this time of year. Everywhere I turned there was people rushing around and buying everything, I even faced a twenty minuet queue in Marks and Spencer’s, all this surprised me greatly seeing as it was a Monday.
Tuesday E went to pre school and I managed to get a bit of housework done and some blogging. Considering E is at preschool for six hours it flies by and I don’t seem to get much done, by the time I have dropped her off and got a few things done then it seems like it is time to pick her up again.
Once she was in bed we had an evening of relaxing until the sickness started, E had caught the nasty bug that appears to be going round. The evening was spent up and down the stairs, cleaning her up and changing the bedding, by the time it got to 1am, M went in the spare room as he had to be up early for work and E got into bed with me. The rest of the night was sick free and sleep free for me! It amazes me how much room a three-year old can take up, E woke throughout the night coughing, so needless to say I didn’t get much sleep – three hours at a push.
Wednesday there was no more sickness but as expected E was still poorly, she was tired, hot, irritable and couldn’t eat anything, she was quite happy lying on the sofa watching television. I always know that E is poorly when she sits still for longer than five minuets.
It has to be said I was quite grateful that she wasn’t full of energy as I was so tired myself.
Despite being poorly she was still her cheeky self and funny to be around. I couldn’t wait for Wednesday bedtime to come quick enough, I was exhausted! Early night all round.
As E still wasn’t a 100% and 48 hours hadn’t passed since her last sickness I knew that she wouldn’t be going into preschool on Thursday which also meant I had no time to get blogging or cleaning. E still wasn’t eating much but I knew she was getting better as she wanted to play! The jigsaw’s came out, the games and all her other toys, there was even a picnic with Father Christmas.
E also spent a long time sticking, cutting and making wonderful pictures, once the glitter came out I knew she was feeling a lot better, after all glitter makes all little girls feel better and happy.
By the end of the day I wasn’t feeling so great, E was starting to be full of energy and eating a little more, yet I envisaged a bad night ahead of me for myself.
E really wanted to go to pre school on the Friday afternoon, as she had eaten her breakfast and I still wasn’t feeling so well I was happy for her to go and have a few hours to myself, which unfortunately were spent buying and writing out Christmas cards.
By the time Saturday came round we were both feeling a lot better. M only just realised how close Christmas was and the realisation that he needed to go Christmas shopping, so into Exeter we went, I was glad I wasn’t the one shopping as it was super busy. E and I went for lunch and then went to Exeter Museum, again!
It’s certainly been a roller coaster week and I am glad that it’s over, it’s never nice when E is poorly and its even worse when I am feeling rubbish too.
I am hoping this next week there is going to be more time for me to get on top of things in the house and to get back on track with the blog, I am not too overly optimistic though what with Christmas sneaking up on us.

Aw sorry you’ve had to cope with poorly kids – my 9 week old has been full of it and it breaks your heart!
