Baker Days Valentine Cake Review

I love a good slice of cake, in fact everyone in this house loves cake. I am the sort of person that will use any occasion to eat a tasty cake.

Recently we were sent a wonderful valentines letterbox cake from Baker Days. It tasted amazing, I really don’t think there are enough words to explain how well received it was.

A letterbox cake is exactly what it says, it is small enough to fit through your letter box, but big enough to share! The letterbox cakes are 5 inches across and 2.5cm depth and is enough for 3-4 portions.

Baker Days let me choose a valentine cake of my choice. This was harder than I expected as there is a great selection of Valentines Cakes to choose from.

I decided on a cute cake and chose to get it personalised with E’s name, just to be different.

When the cake arrived I couldn’t wait to open the box. In side was a pretty tin, a gift card and a packet of love hearts. I thought this was a wonderful touch.

I opened the tin and the cake made me smile. It looks brilliant and I knew E would love it.

Sure enough, when E got home she was really excited. It’s not every day you get a cake with your name on it.

The cake looked wonderful, however I wasn’t sure what to expect when we cut it open. The cake was a classic sponge and looked great, a nice texture.

The icing looks nice and thick and I could see there was a decent amount of buttercream had been used.

E ate most of the cake, seeing as it had her name on and she loved it. I managed to get a little bit and the taste was amazing. It had the same addictive taste that pringles have. I just couldn’t get enough of it. Baker Days make amazingly tasty cakes.

On the Baker Days website, when you personalise your cake you can choose from the classic sponge, Chocolate Chip Sponge Cake made only with Belgian chocolate, Fruit cake, Gluten free cake and Dairy free cake, so there is something for everyone. The thought of it all is seriously making my mouth water.

Baker Days cakes make great gifts. I like that they are not the usual sort of present you would think to give to some one at Valentines day. But one thing is for sure I would definitely choose cake over flowers any day of the week.

The letterbox cakes cost £14.99 which is more than I would normally pay for a cake, but the presentation, taste and the novelty makes it worth every penny.

I am impressed with Baker Days, the service, the presentation and taste all get a thumbs up from us. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate using them again.

My son bought a Father’s Day cake from baker days for my partner a couple of years ago and it looked amazing unfortunately we didn’t get to try any as he ate the lot but I would definitely recommend trying them to anyone that hasn’t.Although the cake is named a letterbox cake and should fit through the door our postman still wished to deliver it so ours needed to be picked up from our local post office so if anyone does order that is one thing to consider.
