It’s a double bump watch again this week as we have been away for a week visiting family which has been nice but very tiring, I feel like I could sleep for a week.
28 weeks pregnant
There isn’t much to report from week 28, the baby was doing somersaults and then placed its self on a nerve which was unfortunately giving me a lot of discomfort and I was waking several times a night with cramp in my leg which obviously added to my tiredness.
I started on the iron syrup they prescribed me this week – after it taking ages to find any chemist with it in stock, it has to be said it tastes disgusting, some days I don’t feel tired and others I still feel drained so I am not sure if its working or not, but I am sure it is.
At 28 weeks pregnant, based from the scan I had baby was weighing 2lb 130z – but I have gained more weight than that, being such a slim person who finds it hard to gain weight I secretly enjoy getting on the scales and seeing my weight gaining, I was the same when pregnant with E too. Baby is compared to the size of a large egg plant
The baby can now blink its eyes and turn its head and the baby can tell the difference between night and day due to the light it can now see through the womb. Baby is padding out in size and is gaining weight at a steady rate.
29 Weeks Pregnant
Here I am, definitely in my third trimester and I feel like I have been pregnant forever. This pregnancy is definitely harder than the first one, it’s probably a combination of being four years older and having an active four year old to run around after. In some ways it’s not as exciting as first time round as it’s not all new, this time I am looking forward to it being over and having a lovely new baby.
It is said baby is the size of a butternut squash this week and measures about 39cm from head to toe and can weigh up to 3.8lbs -and they triple their weight before they are born.
The baby’s muscles and lungs are continuing to develop ready for entering the world and its head is growing to accommodate its developing brain. As the baby is growing more so is my tummy, but things are obviously getting a little more cramped in there as I can feel and see lots of kicks and jabs in the side. The Baby has also had hiccups a lot this week which is cute, little rhythmic movements at random times.
As baby is getting bigger I am suffering more with heart burn, I constantly feel like I need to pee and seem to spend a lot of time up and down the stairs to the bathroom. Another slightly annoying thing I have noticed this week is that my belly is a little itchy. I am also tired and a five minuet rest my eyes could quite easily turn into an hour nap.
I don’t have any cravings at the moment but I do enjoy sweet things, which could just be the need for energy. I have some days when I feel constantly hungry and others when it just seems like hard work to eat. The heartburn affects this on some days.
The time seems to be going quickly even though I feel like I have been pregnant forever. We are still struggling with baby names, boys names particularly.. we just cannot agree on anything. Not great when there is only another eleven ish weeks left, any suggestions are greatly received.
That’s all for bump watch this week, check back next week for the next update.
