The Christmas adverts are all over the TV, the decorations are in the shops, this means one thing… It’s time to get started with the Christmas Shopping.
There are so many toys in the shops that it can be hard to know what to buy for children at Christmas. Because of the sheer volume of toys available. I like to buy something they would really like and get enjoyment out of, not something cast aside after a few hours play.
I am a huge fan of gifts that get children to use their imagination, whether playing alone or with friends.
Learning Resources Pretend and Play School Set
Many Children love to play schools, mine love to play them all the time. Inside the box there are around 149 pieces. The set contains everything you could possible need for pretending to be a teacher. (Calendar, Homework Records, Certificates, Stickers, a Bell, Pencils, Maps, Clock, Playtime Passes etc…I can see it lasting a very long time as the quality of the play set is high and it looks fantastic! The school opens out from a carry case which means the set can be simply folded up and taken wherever you go although it will need a flat surface to rest on.
An excellent educational toy which is fun, well thought out and will provide children with hours of fun. However watch out, you might get made to play also.
I think games make a fun gift that all the family can enjoy. There are so many games available, some are fun while educational and others are so much fun to play.
Orchard Toys Magic Spelling
I just love educational games and Orchard Toys have been my favourite brand for games for this very reason. The concept of the game is to race to spell out your word before the timer runs out. But there is a magic element to it where the words are hidden until you use the magic wand to reveal them. The game is recommended for children aged 5-7. Inside the box you will find – 4 spell book boards, 20 spell ingredient cards, 36 word cards, 36 letter tiles, 1 magic wand, 1 sand timer, 1 cauldron spinner and instructions .
The game is perfect for letter and word recognition, developing word building skills, promoting language and literacy and also encouraging observation. Overall it is such a fun game that is going to be a great aid when it comes to learning to spell.

The colour would make it perfect for a both a girl or boy. Skateboards have been hitting the news a lot lately about female skateboarders. Due to this lots of kids want to have a go. I am a huge fan of books

A Winter Treasury of Recipes has easy yet delicious winter recipes and treats that introduce young readers to local and seasonal eating. A great book with a variety of activities for all ages.
Frozen Mountain
I absolutely love this book, the sort of book i wish i had as a child. In this book you decide your destiny with a pop-out fortune spinner! With this game in a book, use the pop-out Survival Spinner to learn your fate as you face peril after peril in a wild, rugged landscape. You become lost in the mountains after an emergency landing. The place where the spinner points when it stops tells you if you have survived, are still living but injured or that you have perished, with a corresponding page number to turn to for each fate. A really different type of book. I love it as will it will make a unique fun gift.
Eat Sleep Doodle
Colour in pillowcases make great fun activities for kids. They can draw on, design and personalise it. enclosed are a set of ten wash-out pens. Then, after a warm wash in the machine, the ink disappears, and it’s all ready to re-decorate! This will make a great gift for someone creative. Check out the Eat sleep doodle website to see all the pillowcases. You can even get duvet covers!
There is a lot of choice of gifts to buy, online and on the high street. I hope this guide has been helpful with some ideas!
