Valentines Day is fast approaching and lots of people are looking at ways to celebrate this romantic day. E has no understanding or idea what Valentines day is about purely because we haven’t had that conversation. However when a parcel from Bakers Ross turned up with some valentines crafts in E was very excited.
We have been sent some cute little heart gift bags, pet heart photo magnets and Bead heart decoration kits.
E wanted to make one of the gift bags first, she chose one with three hearts on to colour in.
The bags are only small which meant it kept E’s attention as when it comes to colouring in E can sometimes get fed up and wants to do something else. E wanted to use lots of different colours for the hearts and butterflies and took her time so she didn’t go out of the lines too much.
E was really pleased with the gift bag once it was finished and I can tell that she tried her best with the colouring in. She then decided she wanted to give the bag to her friend Lilly with a little gift in which I thought was really cute.
A pack of six Heart Colour-in Mini Gift Bags costs £2.50 and is guaranteed to keep your little ones busy and happy.
The next craft we made was the Heart Bead Decoration Kits. The kits come with a large pack of coloured beads, some pipe cleaners and different colour ribbons. The idea being that there are enough beads to make three different colour combinations. However that certainly wasn’t going to the case when a four year old started to make one.
For this craft you have to mould a heart shape using a pipe cleaner – this bit I found a little tricky- then E started threading beads onto the pipe cleaner. This a great craft for her age group as its great hand eye coordination task and she had to concentrate a little whilst threading the beads.
There is a little heart shaped bead that is supposed to go In the middle of the heart, figuring out where to put it was a little tricky. Once the beads had been threaded onto the pipe cleaner I then tried to mould into a better heart shape for E, after which a ribbon was tied on so that the heart can be hung up.
The Heart Bead Decoration Kits cost £3.49 for a pack of six, this is a great little craft that E really enjoyed doing.
The final craft we were sent is the Heart Pets Photo Frame Magnet Kits
E enjoyed this craft as it is all self adhesive so she can do it herself whilst I’m doing other things. So the other night when she got home from school she decided to do it. She started off with finding a photo to put in the frame and she cut up a family photo to get one of daddy.
One tip don’t actually cut the circle out of the photo as E did, I recommend using a passport size photo so that it sits flush to the photo frame or cut a larger circle, we used a little bit of glue to get E’s picture of daddy to stick down.
Once the photo is complete E enjoyed sticking all the other self adhesive pieces on, the cute little heart ears and nose and the cats paws. There is also a self adhesive magnet to stick on the back.
E is really proud of her photo frame and cant wait to show daddy what she has made, all E has to do now is stick it on the fridge for all to see.
This craft was simple to do and a lot of fun for E, you can buy the Heart Pets Photo Frame Magnet Kits in a pack of four for £2.99. If you are looking for a fun valentines related craft or for any other time then this is perfect for younger children.
All of the above craft kits along with so many other fabulous kits at Baker Ross.
