Autumn Crafts With Baker Ross

Autumn is a beautiful time of year, full of lots of lovely different colours and tones all which are great for arts and crafts. The only downside to Autumn is my eyes is that it starts to get a little nippy – I like warmth and sunshine.

We recently received a parcel from Baker Ross full of wonderful Autumn themed crafts and as expected E couldn’t wait to get started. She cannot read yet but she recognises the Baker Ross tape that is on the parcel and gets very excited to see what is inside.

We started off with a lovely Hedgehog craft, which consisted of a Hedgehog ceramic tea light holder and in the box was some lovely ceramic paints to use.

Ceramic hedgehog and paintsE has no idea what a tea light holder is, which is kind of good as I am not in a hurry to introduce her to candles, but despite that she was very excited to get started painting it.

Baker Ross Autumn CraftsThe pack of ceramic paints we were sent contained lots of different colours so I let E choose what colour she wanted to paint the hedgehog, as expected she chose bright colours. Red, blue and yellow – this was going to be a very colourful hedgehog. I have learnt that doing crafts with a four year old to never expect too much structure and expect colourful master pieces.

Painting a hedgehog.E was doing very well at concentrating on the painting as she knew that she had to cover all the white – she did like to alternate between colours frequently as you can see by looking at the finished product!

The next Autumn themed craft in the box was Rocket Flying Decoration Kits. These looked so bright and colourful and a lot of fun.

Rocket CraftsEach pack comes with four kits all in different colours, E chose to make the red one. The instructions for the rocket are on the inside of the packaging so make sure you don’t throw it away by accident.

Rocket Craft from Baker RossI could see from the instructions that I was going to have to make the rocket as it was a little complicated for E to do alone, but she was still looking forward to decorating it.

Once I had laid the items out as shown in the instructions it wasn’t too hard to make…

Rocket CraftI had to trim toe crepe paper to make it look more like rocket flames and then stick them down, my pva glue wasn’t working so we opted for cellotape which worked really well. Once they were stuck all I had to do was roll the rocket round and use a little glue on the tabs to stick the top bit down – this is all in the instructions.

Rocker Crafts with Baker RossNow came the fun bit, E got to decorate her rocket. The stickers including the kit are all self adhesive so she was able to get on with it without any help.

Decorating a baker ross rockerE was really pleased with the end product and even I have to admit these rockets are pretty cool once they are complete.

Baker Ross RocketThe Rocket Flying Decoration Kits cost £3.49 for a pack of four. E’s rocket hasn’t made it to being a form of decoration yet as she is too busy whizzing around with it telling me its flying through the air.

The final Autumn craft included in the box is these lovely Autumn Leaves stickers, I knew these were going to go down well as any form of stickers are always a big success in this house.

I wanted E to try to use these stickers in a way that would showcase the lovely stickers and also for her to be able to make something Autumn related that we could talk about. Like most little people E loves jumping in all the leaves when they fall of the tree’s so when I suggested painting a tree and using the leaves and show some falling on the ground too she thought that was a brilliant idea and was really excited to get started.

Here she is starting to paint the tree’s –

Painting tree's

E really enjoyed doing this craft as she loves painting and she loves stickers. Once we had painted the tree trunk and some branches I had to convince her to go and do something else whilst the paint dried. As you can see she loved sticking leaves all over her picture.

The end product looked pretty good and E was really pleased as she had done it all by herself.
