I talk a lot about the new year and new starts. This can apply to so many things, you might have a new year resolution you wish to achieve. You might be looking to relocate or go travelling to some exotic destinations. However nothing is straight forward when you own a home.
There are many reasons why you may want a quick sale on your property, whether it be disposal of an inherited property, sale due to divorce or relationship breakdown, a need to relocate or financial issues.
When you are looking to sell your home, there are a few things you can do to help get a fast sale.
Improve your curb appeal
Take a good look at your house from the outside, Are there any improvements that can be made. Also, make your driveway and exterior walls as neat as possible. Curb appeal is what draws potential buyers to your home. First impressions last the longest.
Clean, de-clutter, de-personalise.
Potential buyers will not be impressed with a messy, cluttered house. You may also want to consider de-personalising your house at this point by removing items such as family photos and unconventional or quirky collectables, art or decoration.
Keep your home as simple and neutral as possible. De-clutter the storage units if available and also get rid of excess trinkets and junks. Make your house clean and welcoming. Keep the canvas blank such that prospective buyers will be able to visualize their dream colour on it. – Having bought a house several years ago I know that this can make such a difference.
Making some small upgrades can increase your property’s appeal. Just little things can be done to increase the value. Maybe a lick of paint, upgraded lighting – make sure all the light bulbs work or even a new toilet seat to help make the bathroom look nice.
The first thing people see when they walk out the back? An unkempt garden? Loose concrete slabs? Your back garden should look like a space for entertaining. Why not buy some inexpensive patio furniture, potted plants and install some outdoor lighting to tie it all together.
Offer a reasonable price
Choosing the right price determines how fast your house gets sold. Try not to be tempted to start with a very high price as you might end up shooting yourself in the leg. An overpriced house could sit on the market for a long time, a situation that might scare other potential buyers away. Most buyers, and even agents, will assume that something is wrong with house as it would be categorized as old listing.
If you are keen for a quick sale there are companies that offer the We Buy Any House option. Look around, you might just find that you can sell your house quickly in days. No matter what the condition.
