planning the perfect playroom

Planning the Perfect Playroom

I am constantly looking at ways to make home improvements. Our house constantly appears messy which is mostly down to the children. They have far to many toys and crafts stuff lying around. It wasn’t so bad when we had just one child, but when we had a second the toys seemed to multiply. Attempting to get rid of toys doesn’t always go well.

Having a playroom would be the perfect suggestion, it would mean i would actually get the lounge back to a nice, clutter free space.

The only problem we have faced with having a playroom is the lack of space. We have a three bedroom house and with two children that equates to no spare rooms available. However thinking outside the box, it is always worth thinking about other space you have available.

playroom conversion

I frequently joke about sending the kids to the shed for being naughty, obviously i wouldn’t do that. However it made me think about a friend i used to have who actually had a large shed for a playroom. A shed is much cheaper than a playhouse and you can get quite large ones. With a bit of imagination, some carpet , electric point, heating,  it is a feasible option.

Conservatory

If you have a conservatory it would be the perfect place to transform into a play room. We are lucky enough to have a conservatory, it currently has a leak so we need to get it fixed. The problem i am faced with it that it is red hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There are options for getting a proper roof on a conservatory and having heaters fitted, thus making it useable all year round.

Loft

Other options for the perfect playroom could include a loft conversion. The idea of having a window put in, all boarded and carpeted is very appealing. It would also make me clear out all the junk and get rid of most of it.

Garage

Another option to consider is converting the garage. A large space which is only used for dumping more unused items, would be a wonderful place for a playroom. There are companies that can give you a garage conversion cost. I do love this idea, particularly great if you have an attached garage. I imagine some laminate type floor or wood laminate and a heater. There is plenty of space for all the toys and playing. The inside could be plastered and decorated in a nice appealing way. I love this idea and it is something i would actually consider.

There are so many different possibilities where you could put a playroom. It is time for me to seriously consider how to declutter and where it can all go. A playroom would be an amazing solution.
