What is Really Important?

I have a list of ‘important things’ that I need to do.
Things that I need to do, that I really should do.

Collect Moments Not Thingd

But what is really important?

I feel reckless, and even guilty, when I ignore the list. However sometimes the pull towards other things that needs to take priority.

Sometimes I need to spend time cuddling my smallest child.

He is getting bigger by the day. As he snuggles into me and i tuck his head under my chin i realise how this cuddly boy has grown into a lovely little boy. It is important for me to spend these moments cuddling him and allowing him to be little. He is my last baby.

Sometimes I need to be silly with my little boy.

My pelvic floor won’t thank me for jumping on the trampoline, but my three year old will. He is a bundle of fun who is always on the go. If he wants to have a race i will race with him which makes him laugh with delight. He has an infectious giggle which always makes me smile.

Sometimes I need to sit and chat with my girl.

I already sometimes feel the silence of things she doesn’t tell me. The right questions have to be asked, to find out what she is up to at school. I am aware that i don’t get to spend enough time alone with my big girl due to the youngest constantly wanting our attention. Connecting and chatting about not much, even when she is supposed to be in bed seems more important than anything today.

Sometimes I need to hold my girl a little longer.

I know I won’t always be there to hold her, but I am here now. If I can make her world feel a little smaller and a little safer by holding on just a little tighter, just a little longer then I won’t let go, not yet. These moments are important to me.

Sometimes I need to plonk myself down and just stop.

Parenting is harder that I realised, and sometimes I just need to make some time for me, for a few moments and rest so I can go on. So I can do all these other important things

Let Yourself rest motivation
